Fundación Dédalo is participating, together with other European telecentre networks , at the 8th Telecentre Europe's Annual Conference (TEAC), held in Belgrade (Serbia) on 24-25th September. The event is bringing together over 150 participants and rapporteurs from European institutions, foundations and associations, organisations, universities and companies operating in the domain of information and communication technologies and developing programmes on digital divide reduction and on digital skills education and training.
This year's edition of the Conference is held under the tagline “Digitally Empowered Europeans”. As in previous editions, the programme includes plenary lectures and several workshops.
The programme for the first day focuses on policy and good practices. Following the plenary opening where several European and international lecturers will take to the stage, participants will divide into simultaneous workshops, moderated by members of the UNITE-IT network, on the digital inclusion of vulnerable groups, the education and training of digital skills, the relation between ICT and youth employability and the importance of gender balance in the ICT field. The results of the workshops will be streamlined into the objectives of Telecentre Europe.
Then a panel is scheduled on the launching of the i-LINC platform, a space for collaboration on ICTs for learning and inclusion, especially aiming to empower youth for employability and entrepreneurship. The day will close with the annual award ceremony awarding best projects and practices from European telecentre networks.
The second day will open with a debate on sustainability and the future of telecentres and organisations working for social inclusion. The conference can be followed on social networks (hashtag: #TEAC15) and at http://teannualconference2015.info.
