The organisation celebrates its 10th anniversary by acknowledging the work of 10 persons and bodies.
Over 36,000 persons reached, 2,200 training actions concluded, 137 companies serviced and 185 entrepreneurs counselled, 83 collaboration agreements signed, not to forget our active participation in over 20 regional and national projects, plus 5 European projects. These are some of the objectives attained by Fundación Dédalo during these 10 years promoting the use of technologies.
Last 17 May, on the occasion of the World Information Society Day and the Internet Day, a simple event was held to thank the 10 persons and organisations that have collaborated and worked more closely with us during our 10 years of existence, to reward their engagement and commitment with Fundación Dédalo. Joaquim Torrents, President of Fundación Dédalo, named these people and entities our "Top Ten".
The persons and bodies deserving our recognition were: Mr Fernando de la Cuadra, training manager at ESET (most faithful collaborator); Mr Manuel Subíes (partner with highest number of accesses); Mr Alfonso Constante (user with more training actions at the Cibercentro); Mr Leandro Casado (user over 65 years); Ms Nacha Johnson (young person having completed more training actions); Protégeles (child-support collaborating body); Anunciata (most involved school); Monteagudo (municipality with more training actions); ESET (collaborating company); and the City Council of Tudela (public body).
A special guest to the event was the maker of the Internet Day and regular collaborator with Fundación Dédalo, Mr Luis Arroyo Galán. A PhD and Telecommunications Engineer, he has over 50 years of experience in the domain of technologies and in leading ICT projects.
Luis Arroyo took to the stage to read the opening speech of the Internet Day, where he highlighted some aspects of our organisation, such as: “[our] closeness to the citizen, the entrepreneur, the companies and organisations in the region of Ribera de Navarra, to help solve their issues regarding technologies and innovation. Fundación Dédalo can still be considered innovative, because 10 years after its establishment, it still boasts the strength and impulse of its first years”.
We can conclude that the event was full of great moments, surrounded by friends, partners, collaborators, authorities, organisations, etc. We still feel compelled to bring the Information Society and ICTs closer to all sectors of the population, especially those at a larger risk of digital exclusion and those less favoured in terms of resources.
Always on the cutting edge, we at Fundación Dédalo want to thank you for the trust you have placed in us during these 10 years. Many happy returns to us all!
