The “ICT Value Networks” (ICT-VN) Project has defined a methodology that will facilitate the drafting of the Plan for Transferring selected ICT Best Practices to foster the development of the target sectors, i.e. Trade, Tourism and Agri-foodstuffs.
Project partners have agreed on a working methodology to draft the Transfer Plan for the Best Practices selected in the previous stages of the project that will allow to launch new initiatives promoting the use of ICTs in the 8 participating regions.
The results of the initiative will be complied in two guides to be published in the in the second half of 2012: a Best Practices Guide, including all the experiences presented within the project, and a Transfer Handbook, whose aim is to ease the transfer process for regions interested in importing policies on technology use from other regions to their target sectors.
An exchange forum will be held in September in Ireland to present the eight Transfer Plans to regional agents and bodies. The Closing Conference will be held in November in Brussels (Belgium) and relevant European-scale institutional actors are expected to attend the event.
THE ICT-VN PROJECT
‘ICT Value Networks’, or ICT-VN, is a project co-funded by the ERDF Funds and led by Fundación Dédalo. 10 European bodies take part in this initiative seeking to promote regional development by encouraging the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the agri-foodstuffs, tourism and trade sectors.
The project has identified 80 success stories on the promotion of ICTs in SMEs. Each participating region has selected one success case among the best practices from the other regions relying on criteria such as regional impact, results obtained or the generation of added value for the territory.
