Dédalo Foundation recently hosted its multiplying event on the 3rd of October . The main objective of the event was to disseminate and show the results of the Smartwomen project as well as sharing student experiences and to gain feedback from participants, organizations and citizens.
The seminar began with the director and coordinator presentations. These presentations were focused on the work of the last two years. During 2017 and 2018, seven European partners have been working in order to implement a piloting training programme based on the creation of online businesses and ecommerce. The Project has led to the creation of the brand, the methodology, the curricula and its contents, the Moodle platform and the training.
At the event, we had the opportunity to hear about some of our student experiences. Firstly we listened to Rebeca Barraso, who has set up her showroom and online clothing store, and then, we heard from Paula Portero and Nuria Arilla, whose experiences focused on online marketing. Both of them are some examples of female entrepreneurs in our area. Without doubt, women have been the main protagonist of the project, and we want to emphasize that we have many potential women entrepreneurs, who have a fantastic ideas. Women have transmitted that ".....this course has improved our ecommerce skills and it has given us the opportunity to help to change our labour situation".
Finally, and from doing an analysis on our part, we could say that the feedback has been very positive, taking into account that as it is a pilot course there are elements of improvement and change. However, even after acknowledging these small improvement actions, the most important thing is that this type of initiative helps to boost the entrepreneurial spirit in the area and, ultimately, generate business network and contribute to the reduction of unemployment, especially female unemployment which has been one of the most affected sectors in recent years.
