INTRODUCTION
Since 2006 Fundación Dédalo has been encouraging the use of open-source software as a way to promote a movement which is on the rise and winning new followers every day around the world. Free Software is today a real alternative to proprietary software. Many organisations, whether public or private, have migrated to open-source software applications, one of whose major assets is the possibility to customize it according to the needs of each user, not to mention the world-scale community of developers and support. One of the initiatives under this approach is the organisation of the Open Source Week, that contains activities for everybody (organisations, citizens and professionals) that wants to learn more about open-source. |
